Stained glass repairs and restoration
Restoration of damaged and old stained glass panels is done in the workshop, having taken them out of buildings and boarded up. Sometimes in-situ repairs can be done, without taking whole window panels out.
Repairs to smaller glass and lead or copper foil items are also undertaken. That may be work on glass ('Tiffany' style) lampshades or glass and lead panels in cabinet doors. These items can be brought to the workshop, by appointment.
Stained glass commissions
I design and make commissioned stained glass and lead panels, for private homes and public buildings. From initial ideas to final design and glass choice, you are involved.
Stained glass lessons
When time allows, courses in stained glass and lead panel making are run.
NEW COURSE DATES FOR 2025
I will be running these 2-day beginners courses at 'Square Deal' in Huntly town. I take a small group of students at a time so there is plenty 1:1 teaching time and plenty space. Please go to my 'lessons' page for more details and subscribe to my mailing list to receive new course dates.

Zinc-framed window repairs:
I have finished the repairs to this zinc-framed window. All the broken glass has been replaced with new pieces, the glazing putty has been renewed where needed (more than half the window) and the whole of the outside putty and zinc frame has been painted.
I love that my work takes me to beautiful places around Scotland. This stained glass window in Inverness needed one cracked pane replaced, but also needed support tie-bars adding. At some point in it's life, the window had been removed and installed again with out these important bars.
Some examples of my stained glass work - repairs, full restorations and new design and commissions.
Off-setting
Considering the environmental impact of my business is central at every stage. From where my glass comes from and how it is made, how to reclaim, re-use and recycle my materials, my use of energy when making up panels and the materials I use when installing them.
As part of my off-setting contribution, I have started a grove of trees, through 'Trees For Life'
'These trees will help to rewild the Caledonian Forest, a rich habitat found only in the Scottish Highlands. They will be saplings grown from locally collected seed and will be one of a number of species planted such as Scots pine, willow, birch, rowan, hazel, alder, holly, aspen and bird cherry'.
I intend to add at least one tree with every commission or repair that I complete. If you would like to add your own contribution I would be very grateful. Please click on the link below and it will take you to my 'grove' page.
Thank you.
